TV Licence Refund

If you are a student who leave their student accomodation for the summer holidays you could be entitled to claim back almost £40 on your television licence.

You can claim a TV licence refund for the months that you don’t live in the property where you have paid the TV licence. With the current TV licence for a colour TV costing £145.50 the average TV licence refund would be nearly £40.

The vast majority of students leave their student accommodation to return home or travel during the summer months and therefore thousands of students could be due a Student TV licence refund. If you are a student and have left your student accommodation then you will not need to pay for a TV licence in a property that you will not be living in.

You will only be entitled to a TV licence refund if there are three complete months left of the college time TV licence. For example if you bought the TV licence in October then you have until the end of June.
